I am the subject lead for Bioelectronics in The School of Engineering at The University of Edinburgh, I teach on two courses – Introduction to Bioelectronics, and Lab-on-Chip Technologies.

Introduction to Bioelectronics, is an introductory 4th year/5th year and MSc level course, it teaches the application of electronic engineering principles to biology, medicine, and the health sciences. An important aspect of bioelectronics is the development of a communication interface between biological materials (cells, tissue and organs) and electronic components.

Lab-on-Chip Technologies teaches the basic concept of devices that integrate one or several laboratory functions on a single chip, and how they can offer advantages specific to their application.

Since 2012 I have been nominated for multiple EUSA Teaching Awards: best lecturer 2014, 2015, 2018; best PT 2016; best dissertation supervisor 2017, best supervisor 2019, best course 2021, teacher of the year 2020, 2023, 2024 and best supervisor 2023.
